Cameron Matthee-Johnson

Articling Student

Cameron grew up in a suburb of Edmonton, Alberta. After a year at the University of Alberta, Cameron fell into the hospitality industry for over a decade. Eventually after working as a General Manager and Director of Operations he left the industry to compete his post-secondary education. In 2013, Cameron obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree in Sociology [Criminology] from Grant MacEwan University, having complete his Honours Thesis on the genesis of corporate criminality titled “Drifting into Delinquency: Creating the Criminal Corporation”.

Cameron attended law school at Thompson Rivers University, Faculty of Law starting September 2016. He received the Dean’s Course Prize in Administrative Law, Rule of Law in the 21st Century, and Designing Legal Expert Systems. Cameron argued in the 2018 Court of Appeal Moot, and wrote (jointly with his moot partner) the best factum. Completing his coursework early, Cameron began his articling term with us January 2019. While attending TRU Law Cameron served in a number of positions in student groups and faculty committees, including:

  • TRU Oral Advocacy Club, Chair
